Privacy Policy

We wish to inform you that the (EU) Regulation 2016/679 (hereinafter, the “Regulation”) and the relevant Italian supplementary legislation lay down rules relating to the protection of individuals regarding the processing of personal data and protect the fundamental rights and freedoms of natural persons, and in particular the right to protection of personal data. Pursuant to articles 13 and 14 of the Regulation, we hereby inform you of the methods and purposes with which LC Publishing Group S.p.A., as data controller, will process your personal data.  Please read this privacy policy carefully before providing us with your personal data or, where required, consenting to their processing. This privacy policy concerns the processing of the personal data of users who navigate on the Internet site www.lcpublishinggroup.com (hereinafter, jointly, the “Website“) and/or register to it.

1 Who is the data controller of my personal data? The controller of your personal data is LC Publishing Group S.p.A., with registered office in Via Tolstoi 10, 20146 Milan (MI), VAT and Tax Code 07619210961.

2 If I am a visitor of the Websites, what types of data are processed and for what purposes? If you are a visitor (registered or not) to the Website, the following types of personal data concerning you will be processed for the purposes indicated below:

data you voluntarily provide

  • in e-mails and other communications spontaneously sent by you to our company: the optional, explicit and voluntary sending of your personal data on the Websites entails the subsequent acquisition of such data, which is necessary to reply to the requests sent by you in relation to the Websites (art. 6, co. 1, let. b) of the Regulation). You are free to provide such data. However, failure to provide them may make it impossible to obtain what you have requested;
  • when you call our company’s telephone number: when you contact our company’s telephone number, we may process the personal data that you spontaneously communicate to us during the telephone conversation or that we reasonably request in order to respond to your requests and provide you with what is necessary (art. 6, co. 1, let. b) of the Regulation). You are free to provide such data. However, failure to provide them may make it impossible to obtain what you have requested.

3 If I am a registered user of the Website, for what purposes will my personal data be processed? If you decide to register on the Website, the personal information you provide to us will be processed:

  • to allow you to register with and use the Website, to implement any terms and conditions governing the use of the Website or contractual conditions governing specific initiatives of the Website, to provide you with any technical assistance you may require during or after registration on the Website, to provide you with additional products and services offered through the Website from time to time, to allow you to vote in the context of the Awards organised by our company, to allow you to publish any comments on the Website and to carry out any pre-contractual measures taken at your request (art. 6, co. 1, letter b of the Regulation);
  • in the event of the sale of goods and services on the Website, to comply with legal obligations concerning taxation and consumer protection (art. 6, co. 1, let. c) of the Regulation);
  • to pursue our legitimate interest in exercising or defending a right in judicial or extrajudicial proceedings (art. 6, co. 1, let. f) of the Regulation).

As specified in paragraphs 4 and 5 below, with your optional consent, we may also process your personal data for marketing purposes and/or for the purpose of sending you, our newsletters.

4 Do you have newsletters and what content do the newsletters have? We have newsletters relating to each of our Websites. With your optional consent (art. 6, co. 1, let. a) of the Regulation), which you express by requesting our newsletters, we will process your personal data to send you our newsletters, which have mainly editorial content, but may also contain advertising and marketing communications relating to events, publications, initiatives, products and services of our company or third parties (art. 6, co. 1, let. B) of the Regulation). You may withdraw your request to receive the newsletter at any time by contacting us in the manner set out in paragraph 15, in which case we will immediately stop sending you the newsletter. You may also withdraw your consent to the processing and unsubscribe from the newsletters by clicking on the opt-out link in each newsletter e-mail. Your subscription to the newsletters is free and optional and if you decide not to subscribe to the newsletters you will not suffer any detrimental consequences.

5 Will you also process my personal data for marketing purposes? With your optional consent (art. 6, co. 1, let. a) of the Regulation), which can be expressed by checking the appropriate consent box on the Website, we will process your data for marketing purposes (direct sales, sending advertising material, carrying out market research, commercial communication, customer satisfaction surveys) and sending advertising information, offers and promotions relating to our products and services by post, e-mail and/or SMS/MMS. If you do not consent to the processing of your personal data for marketing purposes, your ability to browse the Websites, to register on the Website and/or to use the Services provided through the Website will not be affected in any way, nor will you suffer any other detrimental consequence. You may, in any case, freely and free of charge withdraw your consent to the processing of your personal data for marketing purposes at any time, also selectively (for example, by communicating your wish not to receive any more communications by e-mail, wishing to receive only communications by other means of contact), by making a request to us in the manner indicated in paragraph 15 below. In relation to promotional communications sent by e-mail, you may withdraw your consent to the processing of your email address for marketing purposes by clicking on the opt-out link in each promotional e-mail.

6 Do you use cookies or other similar tools on the Website? Yes, we use cookies on our Website. Please read our Cookie Policy[SV1] .

7 Is the provision of data mandatory or optional? Providing your personal data is optional but if you do not provide it, you will not be able to register on the Website and/or receive some of the products and services provided through the Website and/or the information you have requested.

8 How will my personal data be processed and for how long will it be stored? Your personal data will be processed using automated and non-automated tools, with logic strictly related to the purposes and, in any case, in such a way as to guarantee the security and confidentiality of the data. If you have contacted us by e-mail and/or through one of the contact forms on the Website to obtain information about the Websites and the services offered therein, your data will be stored for 14 days from the day on which we provided you with the requested information, unless further storage of the data is required to comply with legal obligations.

Your data collected when you register to the Website will be retained for as long as your account remains active, unless further retention of such data is necessary to comply with legal obligations.

Data processed for the purpose of performance a contract and complying with legal tax obligations will be retained for a period of 10 years from the date on which the contract was entered into or from the date of any act interrupting the statutory limitation period.

Where you have consented to the processing of your personal data for marketing purposes, your personal data will be retained until you have withdrawn your consent to the processing of your data for marketing purposes, unless the retention of your data is still necessary for other purposes.

9 Will my personal data be transferred outside the European Economic Area? No, your personal data will only be stored and processed within the territory of the European Economic Area.[SV2]

10 Who can have access to my personal data? Your personal data may be disclosed to our employees and collaborators who are responsible for the management and maintenance of the Website, the processing of orders placed on the Website, the support of customers and potential customers, as well as, if you have consented to the processing of your personal data for marketing purposes, to our employees and collaborators who are responsible for marketing campaigns. Your personal data may also be disclosed to the following categories of subjects who, in their capacity as data processors, provide us with services that are instrumental to the performance of our activities: suppliers of IT services; suppliers of management services; suppliers of administrative services; external professionals and consultants; external auditors, if any; payment gateways; third parties who provide us with advertising and marketing services; persons in charge of sending documentation and/or informative and/or advertising material.

11 Will my personal data be communicated to third parties? Your personal data may be disclosed to banks, payment institutions and other payment intermediaries to the extent that this is necessary to receive a payment from you or make a payment to you. Where required by law, your personal data relating to a purchase made on the Sites may be disclosed to the Inland Revenue. Your information may be disclosed to the Judicial Authorities at their request in cases provided for by law. With the exception of what is indicated in paragraph 12 below, your data will not be communicated to other third parties.

12 Will my personal data be communicated to third parties for marketing purposes? With your optional consent (art. 6, co. 1, let. a) of the Regulation), we may disclose your data (name, surname, e-mail address and other data provided during registration) to the following categories of third parties, so that they can send you their offers, promotions and commercial proposals by e-mail: companies operating in the automotive sector, banks and financial service providers, law firms, companies operating in the media and telecommunications sector, recruitment companies, publishing companies and distributors of publishing products, companies operating in the IT sector, companies operating in the fashion, jewellery and luxury sectors. If you do not consent to the disclosure of your personal data to third parties for marketing purposes, your ability to browse the Websites and/or register on the Websites will not be affected in any way, nor will you suffer any other detrimental consequence. You may, in any case, freely and free of charge withdraw your consent to the communication of your personal data to third parties at any time, by making a request to us in the manner indicated in paragraph 15 below.

13 What are my rights? You may exercise at any time, free of charge and without formalities, the following rights under Articles 15 to 22 of the Regulation: the right to request access to personal data (i.e., the right to obtain confirmation from us whether or not we are processing data concerning you and, if so, to obtain access to personal data, obtaining a copy thereof, and to the information referred to in Art. 15 of the Regulation) and rectification (i.e. the right to obtain the rectification of inaccurate data concerning you or the integration of incomplete data) or erasure of the same (i.e. the right to obtain the erasure of data concerning you, if one of the reasons indicated in art. 17 of the Regulation) or the limitation of the processing concerning you (i.e. the right to obtain, in the cases indicated by art. 18 of the Regulation, the marking of the data stored with the aim of limiting their processing in the future), as well as the right to data portability (i.e. the right, in the cases indicated by art. 20 of the Regulation, to receive from us, in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format, the data concerning you, as well as to transmit such data to another data controller without hindrance). You also have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawal of consent at any time. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of the processing based on the consent before withdrawal. We remind you that you always have the possibility to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (www.garanteprivacy.it) or with the different supervisory authority of the Member State of the European Union where you live or work.

14 Does the Regulation also give me the right to object to the processing? Yes, you have the right to object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to the processing of personal data concerning you pursuant to Article 6(1)(e) or (f) of the Regulation. Where personal data are processed for direct marketing purposes, you have the right to object at any time to the processing of personal data concerning you carried out for such purposes.
